There is a handful of products that promise to increase the volume and thickness of your hair. But wait…are all of them legit?

While there are products that are more reliable than others, the good news is that there are many other ways to treat hair loss. You no longer have to rely on a single, specific type of treatment. So, are these treatments costly? Let’s find out!

Hair transplant

If you are looking to move hair so as to fill an area that has thin or no hair, then a hair transplant procedure is your best bet. It involves cleaning your scalp, injecting medicine to numb the back of your head, and adding or transferring hair onto the chosen place.

You will pay different prices depending on the complexity of the treatment. The price largely depends on the amount of hair that you are moving.

Typically, it ranges from $4,000 to $15,000. A majority of insurance plans do not cover this hair treatment procedure. It is important to talk to your doctor about the different pricing options so as to determine the one you will afford.

Wig and extensions

The least investive way to deal with hair loss is by wearing a wig. Granted, high-quality wigs can be pricey but are affordable compared with other types of hair loss treatments.

Even better is the fact that they do not come with any side effects. The approximate cost of wigs and extensions is $50 to an upward of $2,000.

Being that there are different wigs to suit different styles and personalities, you are bound to find something that suits you. Wigs and extensions are versatile, giving you the natural look that you desire.

Hair loss medications

For an approximate of $141 to $420 a year, over the counter hair loss medications like minoxidil work to combat hair loss.

This FDA- approved medication for men causes the hyperpolirization of cells which open up and allows the growth of hair cells.

Apart from minoxidil, there are many other over-the-counter drugs that can be purchased for as low a $47 for a three-month supply.

PRP Injections

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injections involve drawing blood into special collection tubes and are spun inside a centrifuge so that the blood can separate into various components.

For an approximate total of $5,600 a year, this procedure poses a high concentration of hair growth factors and stem cells.

Thus, it stimulates hair growth as a whole. Of course, you will need maintenance every four months but other than this, you will also need consultations with your dermatologist.
